February 7, 201213 yr comment_380059 A large source of unthrottled air will usually give you a runaway idle. You may have an air leak somewhere. The first place I'd check is where the carb mounts to the manifold. February 7, 201213 yr comment_380081 Another thing to check is the throttle opener. If you have vacuum directly to this rather than through the control valve it will hold the throttle open enough to cause a high idle.
