Nigel Mulvey Posted January 14, 2003 Share #3 Posted January 14, 2003 Is that with Z's or Skylines?
That Ozzy Guy Posted January 14, 2003 Author Share #4 Posted January 14, 2003 Hi Nigel, it is with the Skylines club but we encourage all other clubs to join us so everyone who's around can join us if they wish.
That Ozzy Guy Posted January 23, 2003 Author Share #5 Posted January 23, 2003 This cruise is set to be the biggest of the year. So far every car club I know has it's own meeting point and numbers are looking big. We alone have around 30+ Skylines so far. A couple are even cruising from Wollongong to Sydney to met us and then cruise back. www.datnet.org is going up as well so if you are not doing anything on Sunday make sure you wash your car and get on down to Wollongong. RB30-ZED will most likely be there so if you want to check out last months 'Ride of the Month' be there. George

That Ozzy Guy Posted January 26, 2003 Author Share #7 Posted January 26, 2003 It went a little something like this-Coming home this morning my car decided to die at around 4am. Alternator thought it was a good time to call it quits and retire. NRMA came and got me home safely. One of my mates picked me up and we get to the meeting point where there's over 30 Skylines with some wrx's, a messerati and a few other cars. From the word go we started loosing cars. Every second suburb there was a victim. By the time we got to Wollongong we were less than half the group. We met up with the datnet boys and girls and they fed us with their snags which was mighty kind of them. I asked one of them if there was any 240's in their club and for some reason one of them laughed. Apparently there isn't any.Around that time RB30-ZED (Steven) showed up with his 240. One very nice piece of work. We had a quick chat and unfortunately the group I was with decided to leave so we cut it short. Nice to meet you Steve:classic: We never went past the lighthouse where everyone was as we got reports police were handing out defects. A couple of my mates got one unfortunately. The lighthouse was pretty packed despite the police. The lesson of the day I guess would be- never understimate organisation. Can't wait for next years one. Z Kid Posted January 26, 2003 Share #8 Posted January 26, 2003 George, if its any help, our australia day cruise sucked as well. Dads car died, so we crammed three of us across the front of the landrover and headed off, the average age of the cars was about 45 odd years, and the drivers at least 70 which meant they could do an average speed of about 25-30 miles an hour, there were only a couple of Z's there, and the rest was all "classics" (I'd love to know when a beetle became a classic) We spent about 5 hours and covered just under 70 miles, stopping frequently for cool downs, and tea breaks. However on the bright side, I scored a free landrover (yet to pick up) and got a lead on an abandoned 240Z. However it was still nothing on our original idea of a high speed blast through the local roads in an E type, but maybe next time I shall have the Z running (got leads on two possibilities so far)Cheers ChrisPS Doesn't it suck when the pigs are being picky about defects, and not defecting the genuine heap of $^!# cars, but picking on show cars for too low, a decibel too loud, tint etc. They must just have been pissed off cos maccas didn't give them their free breakfast or something.Bad cop no donut
sjcurtis Posted January 27, 2003 Share #9 Posted January 27, 2003 Have I got another great story. Did the right thing got up early 5am took the dogs for a walk disscussed taking the the Z for an early morning cruise from Medowie to Maitland and back before 9am (no thats cruising). Got the woman ready got the Pomerainian ready opened the Garage locked the house set the alarms (let the rotties loose). Now thats a great build up for,Steve gets in the drivers seat too get the Z out for the trip. Turned the ignition on, the pump primes and shuts off. Ignition off then on again re-prime because I have not started it for two weeks start the engine. the engine splutters but will not run. remove the air filter enables car to run at about 500 rpm self sustaining but dies when you hit throttle. twenty minutes of f*&^%$*&&^% around checking airflow meter and such with one agitated spectator waiting for her ride in the Z I gave away the idea of my Australia day cruise for 2003 and diconnected the battery for charging while I go through my analog injection books. That was my Australia Day cruiseSteve :disappoin
