I am almost 6 foot tall and like my seat back, the retractor does not take up that much room. I am very happy with the set up it feels and works like it came on it stock. Funny story about the MSA version; I know one of the guys there at MSA, I told him about my Wesco belts and how much I loved them. Soon after that they came out with their version and I tought to myself; why did they not go with the Wesco belts? Oh well.
