Here some pictures of my first thread that I want to buy is a 1994 Datsun 260z with 50844 miles needs tires, starter, battery, paint, interior work, driver side window, and carb work, it's the red car and the brown car is a 1973 240z for $3500 O.B.O and is in running condition just need carb work and rust on driver floor pan all stock I'm new with this cars but I like to get one and restore one I work in a body shop so body and paint is not a problem just mechanic staff let me know if is a good deal this is a response to my first thread... The 260Z is being in the back yard for the last two years is not running and needs work. The brown car just needs carburetor work but is in running condition all original rebuild engine I'm new with this cars but I want to restore one I work in a body shop so paint & body is not a problem just mechanic staff I don't know to much thanks for the reply...

I saw an add on Craigslist last week for a '73 in the south bay. It looked to be in good shape, but due to a salvage title he was only asking around $1,800.00. Since it is not that far you might want to check it out.

I'd go or the 240z. Remanufactured carbs are $650 or so. If you have patience, interest and some basic tools, you can learn how to remove, replace and tune the carbs. I think I would try offering something closer to $2k and go fom there.

It all depends how much work you have to do. how is the seats panel dash etc and does it runs? 4 or 5 speed ? if you can get it for 2000 would be great 3 would be a fair price and 35 no bad either its getting harder and harder to find 240

Just look them over carefully. You know what to look for....you own an early S30. Either one will probably need work. I have a 77 280 and wish I could afford an early 240. By the time I'm able to buy one they will probably be unreachable financially for me.

The 240z runs but the 260z is not running needs more work the 240z is being in the garage for few years but is in running condition I well talk to the owner today!!...

I would vote for the brown one. It runs! that means alot. you can get more info from a running car than one that does not.

I'd probably go with the brown one just because it's running and I could check the operation of the engine and transmission. The red one may have a few surprises that could get expensive.

Take your pick, both cars have negatives and positives. I am more of a 240 guy and I don't sweat salvage titles on 30 year old vehicles. If the car is straight and you are not looking for a concourse car it is fine. The price looks right on either. The engine bays on both look pretty stock; I vote for the 240.

I'd go with the 240, put in some elbow grease and some carb work, then drive it all day long. Just my 2 cents.

My next project will be an early 240, that's only if I finish my current 280 sometime this century.
