Posted February 22, 201213 yr comment_381689 Hi Everyone,Novice of novices here. Pertronix makes it sound so easy. I have '73 240Z. I thought I watched enough Youtube videos and read instructions I could do this myself. I removed the points but I don't know how to get the red wire from coil into the distributor. Do I remove the yellow wire inside the distributor and assembly on back side which has some sort of metal cylinder attached to it and use the rubber plug attached to the red wire that came with the electronic ignition? I determined to learn this. Please help. Thanks. Tomorrow I may post a photo of the mess I created. February 22, 201213 yr comment_381735 Good luckOnce you get it installed it is a good idea to keep a spare set of points in the glove box, just incase the electronic ignition leaves you stranded on the side of the road. They give no warning when they decied to go bad. That way you put the points back in and your good to go again. Let us know how it goes and if you notice the difference Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/42365-so-i-thought-i-could-install-pertronix-ignitor-myselfim-lost/#findComment-381735 Share on other sites
