Posted February 25, 201213 yr comment_381999 I told my son to find us a car to tool around on. Ended up buying 76 280z. Engine was taken out. I wanna put something in but really haven't messed with old foreign cars so I don't know what will fit with out too much work. I don't have a lot of money, in the navy. If anyone could give me some suggestions as to what will fit and be pretty cheap I would be very grateful. My son has autism and is very unsociable so when he was very excited about this it blew my mind. Thanks. February 25, 201213 yr comment_382015 Easiest, and probably cheapest alternative is to get a used, carburated L-series Z engine. Plenty of power and much easier to install than a non-Z engine. If you can find one that doesn't need to be rebuilt it will drop in with virtually no modification. February 25, 201213 yr comment_382026 welcome another one from the NW. I agree find a good used Z engine. If there are no EFI coponents left in the car carbs would be the way to go.
