Greetings from sunny Ohio-

From the (service outage/message) a few days ago, you know there were some updates to this system, like the new side bars, but every time I click the link to see the list of new posts, there are over 100 (four screens) no matter how much time has elapsed; it could be a few minutes or a few hours.

Are things working right?

Also, before the recent updates, the left sidebar could be collapsed permanently, and now the right side bar (club stats) is open each time you get a new screen.

I could go my big computer with the 30-inch screen and have room to browse two website at once, but all my other computers have 'normal-sized screens' so I kinda miss the way theold layout worked.

Maybe a few tweaks are in order to perfect things?

thxZ

Okay, I have minimal techno savvy and find that even logged in, I only get the last 10 posts and see no easy avenue to access a list of say the last 40 or 50 threads that have received posts. I do not readily see any single click avenue for expanding the number of recent additions to threads. I am easily confused here so maybe I have missed the obvious but the most valued thing that I miss, is the ability to easily click on the recent history of additions for the last few days or so,

Hope this makes sense.

Regards

Dave

Have you tried the "What's New?" button on the top toolbar?

Yes. Typically, after being gone for a while and leaving the computer while logged in, I'll come back and hit the "What's New" button, or recycle the page, only to have it load the page that shows when I'm not logged in.

I've got the page open in Windows IE8 now, I'll see what happens. If I'm the only one, then of course, I'll just live with it.

Zedhead, I just ran a few more tests and it looks like you are right! I was able to test this on my iPad last night and it appears that anonymous users are not able to see the recent activity. It appears the permissions for the "Not logged in" usergroup was set to hide the recent activity blocks. To fix it, I changed the permissions so anonymous users can now see the current up-to-date top 10 on the front page.

There are a number of ways to keep up to date, for instance, the front page has the Top 10, the What's New link can be clicked, and we also have a few new additions. The newest additions are as follows:

Recent Activity Page - Can be accessed from the main home page. Link is just under the tabs.

Live Wall (The Feed) - This is a new feature (I just installed it this week). It's a live activity feed showing all of the activity for the site including actions and changes made by individuals.

Thanks for looking at that and confirming, and changing it. Sorry it was so shocking(!).

I have confirmed today that the logging-off problem is caused by Mozilla Firefox, but not by IE8. Maybe it's the pop-up blockers. Since you've allowed anonymous viewers though, I can go back to my old lurking in the shadows ways, although I would stay logged in if Firefox would let me. If IE8 wasn't so slow and clunky I'd just switch back but Firefox is faster and less prone to lock-ups.

Thanks again.
