sopwith21 Posted March 9, 2012 Share #1 Posted March 9, 2012 Need one for a 79-83 280zx. All the salvage yards are out of stock, and the best price I can find to order one is $135. Any ideas? Many thanks!

Arne Posted March 9, 2012 Share #3 Posted March 9, 2012 E12-80? Check the salvage yards for other Nissans, as well. I've grabbed them off of early '80s 210, 510 and pickups. They are not ZX-only parts.
sopwith21 Posted March 9, 2012 Author Share #4 Posted March 9, 2012 How can I tell if it's an E12-80? I pulled mine off the distributor and it has "C B" stamped into the plastic, and a silver sticker that reads "482 US."
tlorber Posted March 9, 2012 Share #5 Posted March 9, 2012 I believe the ignition module itself has the "E12-80" cast into the plastic.
sopwith21 Posted March 13, 2012 Author Share #6 Posted March 13, 2012 Okay, module is here. Now... there are two wires that plug into it. One of them goes directly to the coil and there is only one option on how and where to plug it in. The other wire is a small wire coming from the distributor itself. But there are two possible female receptacles on the back of the ignition module where it could be plugged in... which one do I use? Thanks. sopwith21 Posted March 13, 2012 Author Share #7 Posted March 13, 2012 Cancel that. We're answering all our own questions every time we take something else apart. Cars run better when the only thing I touch is the steering wheel.
