April 14, 201212 yr comment_387043 Is there a way to fix the thin part at the very bottom of the console that goes under the radio? It has broken off on my console.I actually made a template from very thin paperboard, and used this to make a complete 18 gauge sheetmetal backer that I hand trimmed and then epoxyd it to the back of the dash/radio plate. You have to remove the radio plate and dissassemble in order to do this. With this done, you can reglue the broken trim to the new sheetmetal plate. Also, you can take this time to clean and polish the chrome and repaint the black. can post pics if you want. April 14, 201212 yr comment_387045 So I have the same cracking console issue. I used SEM two part flexible plastic repair material to "skim coat" the entire dash board, and then primered, textured, and topcoated the dash with all sem products. My question, is I'm unsure as whether or not the two part flexible will bond to the fiberglass console (71). Thoughts? If the SEM will bond, then I can easily repeat this same process on the console as I did on the dash.
