New owner here i just purchased a 1983 280zx non turbo and having a issue with it LOL im sure you hear that all the time but seriously whats going on is the z had a hard time starting i thought changing the fuel filter and fuel pump would fix this but it didnt so i pulled off the fuel filter hose to check if any gas was getting pump thru and no gas it was dry so what do i need to do the pump works i can hear it when i turn the key i am at a loss someone help me out thanks :ermm:

There are several things you should look into, starting with the simplest: Is there gas in the tank? (seriously. I helped troubleshoot a friends Honda, only to find the tank was dry-and the low fuel light/sender was bad).

If there is gas, how old is it? Have you looked inside the tank to check for crud? (If not, you should...)

When you replaced the fuel pump, did you reverse the leads? (I ask because I've done this-it's easier to do than you think...yes, the pump will activate, but spin the wrong direction)...

thanks zed LOL hey zbane I tried the wires both ways and still no pump I'm probably going to open the tank and see if any crud is inside of it maybe I'll get lucky with that
