Posted January 17, 200322 yr comment_23586 I just installed a new center console on my 76 280 and I have one empty slot? There are three holes for switches right under the radio and I have one empty slot in the center. Perfect square. What the hell goes in this one? I must be missing a switch or is this the wrong year console. A 240? January 17, 200322 yr comment_23590 That sounds like the hole where the seat belt light is. Small hole about 2x2 in the center. It should have a red lens that lights up if seatbelt is not hooked up with the car on. January 17, 200322 yr comment_23600 my 78 has the same "void" on the console. the original owner manual doesn't show a use for it. i always figured it was just a place to add you own toggle switch, like for fog lights, or something.
