Posted May 6, 201212 yr comment_389253 SO I been doing some experimenting with hoses trying to find a way to get the braided look on hoses not made anymore like the manifold coolant "S" hose on the 72 and a few other models... So I did this!...... I found a old hose that seemed the braid was beginning to delaminate from the rubber so i helped it out.. The pics should say all.... At the end, I just glued the ends to the new hose and it seems to be working! What do you think? May 7, 201212 yr comment_389283 The braiding was rotting off of some hoses, so I removed the remaining threads, then satin black rattle can, the cloth impressions in the hose make it appear the cloth is still there.Bonzi Lon Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/43145-this-old-hose/#findComment-389283 Share on other sites

May 7, 201212 yr comment_389297 Polecat, That is really a creative idea I admire your work. Might work on my car at some point, I have a lot of braided hoses, I don't know if they are original or have been replaced. And the waterblaster makes it a very simple job. The finish is the same as a new hose. May 8, 201212 yr comment_389381 If I had a water blaster, I could get into a lot of trouble. Bonzi Lon Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/43145-this-old-hose/#findComment-389381 Share on other sites
