Recommended Posts

I’m new to these forums and thought I’d introduce myself. Apart from my love for cars, I also like to up cycle and repurpose. I thought I’d share some of the items I have recycled. I resized the pictures so they’d be ok for the forum, if you want see more detailed pictures and other projects (before, after and higher res) then checkout my blog http://www.reinventingwheels.blogspot.com

Enjoy!

You should change your handle to Warhol or Picasso!

That stuff is brilliant!!!! I bet you could take it to London TATE or NYC MOM then put in a gallery and get $5k to $50k for each piece!

GO GO GO Make $$$$ from your genius!

You are an artist! Get out there and make more and sell!

WOW that's a massive compliment.. thank you very much.. it's funny that you mention Picasso, the robust bull head design of this wall lamp pays respect to two of my favourite artists:

The first being Marcel Duchamp who used commercially made cult objects and, with little or no modification, displayed them under his name as works of art. The second being Pablo Picasso and his "Bull's Head" sculpture which was made from a rearranged bicycle saddle and handlebars.

I was inspired to create my own version with the addition of lights after a recent visit to the Picasso exhibition, which was held at the Art Gallery of NSW. It’s always been my philosophy that good design should evoke emotion and encourage imagination. I couldn’t help but be drawn in by the artwork as I relived the adventures of riding my bike as a child. If I make anything more, I’ll be sure to share it with you all. I doubt that will happen with the focus being on building my car

Cheers..

Although, I do have a photo that may be of interest to some of you..
