Power force damper @##$$%%

Recommended Posts

Phillip.....I finally gave up. I bought two performance dampers and they were so tight I was afraid to torque 'em on. I had them machined and still felt uncomfortable. If you use the Nismo performance bolt, don't use it on a stock damper. The drop down on the washer bottoms out on the end of the crank, preventing everything from pulling up tight up front. Been there....done that! Regards. Guy

Yes, I bought 2 premium dampers from MSA.....I ended up throwing them away.....wasn't about to sell my problem to someone else. Don't use those expensive bolts on your stock damper unless you machine that drop down off the washer.

I installed one on my l28 im putting in my 240z I just sanded the inside of the damper with some emery cloth until it would start then i cleaned it futher with a scotch pad and then hammered it on with a dead blow hammer.

I have 3 cranks: L24, L28, and LD28 Neither of the 2 MSA untis fit. My stocks damper fits all 3.

On the MSA unit, even the woodruff key does not fit in width or depth. I wasted $350 on these POS.

I just checked, and the MSA website now says to buy the part then take to a machine shop to make it fit. BS!!!

The one I bought was too tight but if you take your time with a round rat tail it will fit. This is my last posting today as I have some buyers coming out to buy my 73 Saterday. Thanks all for the 6 or 7 yrs.
