I had bought these spings on ebay as an impulse buy for $52. bucks thinking what the heck. The seller said they were bought by a friend of his in the mid 80s for a 71z, (mine is a 10/70 build) from Impact Auto in NY. They have markings on the boxes that have an "F" with a 12 and what looks to be a part number and the other has a "R" with 12.5 with what looks to be a part number. I called Impact and they have no way of cross referencing the numbers since there so old. So I guess my next step would be take them to a muffler/shocks/brake shop and see if they can test for the spring rate and size. So I guess my questions were, do these yellow springs look familiar to anyone? Wasn't there a company called Quick Turn maybe that sold yellow springs? I don't know and if anyone has any information or a good guess, I'm all ears. If they're an upgrade from stock I could use them but I would need to get the information first. Thank you.

I'm 90% confident I saw Wiley Coyote using a pair like that.

Just purely a guess, but I suspect the "F" and "R" would indicate front and rear, whilst the numerical designation would indicate spring height unloaded in inches. Just guessing...

I have those same springs on my 240z. They were on the car when I bought it. I cannot tell you how good or how bad they handle as I have only driven the car a half mile since I got it due to a fuel system project I am doing on it. However you can see by the pics below how much it lowers the car and get an idea what they might do on yours. My wheels are 14x6 Appliance wheels.

First let me thank everyone for the responces. Hardway your Z looks like fun. It looks like it drops the car an inch, or is it more? Does the car have bump steer spacers? What kind of struts do you have? I plan on using some tokicos illuminas with either 15x6 ZX snowflakes or 16x7 rota rbs.

What color were the stock springs? I've got stock dampers, so I assumed my springs were stock as well. So without taking these out, can you tell me if they're aftermarket?

Stock I believe is black. The yellow springs are Turn Six springs and are aftermarket. I can remember Turn Six from the 80s and I think they were associated with Monza somehow, all their products were black and yellow, and pretty popular. So Jon, your 70, is it 1 inch lower than stock? Are there any bump steer spacers? I read one of your other posts and I to am in the same boat. I want to do a budget rebuild starting with the front end and use all rubber bushings, but mate them with the tokico illumimas. I would like to use the Turn Six springs but I really don't know any characteristics/spring rates of the springs. Are they overly stiff, stiff or stock like? Otherwise I could just use my stock springs, but I would like to give the Turn Sixes a chance but I don't know much about them.

I'll have to take measurements when I put it back on the ground (front is on jack stands now). I thought my suspension was stock until I saw this thread, and I have no clue really how these compare to stock as far as ride quality. That being said, I've generally been happy with ride quality given that I think I'm on all original bushings.
