New kid in town

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody, Just joined up a week or so ago,and wanted to say it's a pleasure to be here! I have a 1979 280zx,it runs great, but in need of paint and some interior work,I've had it almost two years now and it has made driving fun again! My problem is ever since my girl friends brother bought his Z in the spring of 1970,(yea,I'm an old guy) I have loved only one car....a 240Z. I always planned on getting one,but timed passed faster than it was supposed to,marriages(2) came and went until I ended up here in 2012. About a month and a half ago,I decided to treat myself, got on the Datsun Classified ads and found what I've wanted for all these years...my own 240Z. It's a 1972 240Z,matching numbers, original interior,VIN #S30-75685,built 4/72,sold in Alexandria, Virginia 6-20-72.It came with original sales invoice, warranty book and card, owners manual, and all reciepts from 6-72 until sometime in 1977. Her ad is on page three of these classified. It's the '72 from Wisconsin,Orange 918 with metal flake. I had it transported out to me in So Cal...sight unseen. My good fortune,Dennis was a great,HONEST guy,and it turned out to be a great find...IMO. Runs great...but the metal flake had to go. It's in my friends shop now, getting painted back to original 918 orange. Also putting new windshield and all new rubber. Hope to have pics soon. Hope you guys will accept a new guy in. Am full of questions!...Thanks for your time... Tim B.

Thanks for the welcome, very cool! Pics will be coming. Went to see my baby yesterday in the paint/body shop.No body work, just a few dings on the hood. Tom told me he was blown away at the lack of rust on her, especially coming from Wisconsin.... MADE MY DAY! Two more weeks and she'll be home. That will give a computer challenged old guy time to figure out how to add pics. I'm gonna love being part of this forum! So much information.... and cool people.... Tim

Tim,

Congratulations on purchasing this awesome '72! I remember when it was up for sale last year and have been watching to see who would end up buying it. You will find everyone here is eager to help when you have questions!

From one computer challenged old guy to another---Sorry I can't be much help. I can sort of manage to post pics sometimes when I remember how, or with the help of computer savvy 45 year old son.

Others here will be able to assist I'm sure. I don't think a 35mm camera does it anymore.:ermm::)

Look forward to seeing the ZED

Brian.
