You guys kill me...you know there is a whole engine pulling thing going on in these pictures! HAHA

I used UCOATIT products. It was a kit. I did it in mid 2008. It has been pretty much flawless since then. I have one or two places where the concrete peeled up about the size of a quarter that I need to patch. But when I called UCOATIT and send them a sample of the flakes, they said the paint did not peel, the concrete layer came up on the epoxy. But they gave me a FREE patch kit in the mail the next day and have been amazing with their customer support.

Now on to todays work.

Got the dizzy installed and some other brackets. Pulled almost all the parts I am going to need from the old engine and put them on the new engine, and set them aside to clean. Man, I have a lot of parts to get cleaned. Wish I had a media blasting case. But for now good old simple green and a brass brush will have to do.

I also decided to put my Type A tranny next to the Type B I am going to install. There have been so many questions about shifter linkage, and the like. I will take any measurements anybody wants at this point while I have them lined up. But for now some pictures.

I am looking forward to getting this thing back together, but the engine compartment cleaning has me stumped right now. It could easily get out of hand. I need to decide how much of a paint job I want to put in the engine bay. My goal is to be done before July time frame. But that can easily push to the right. It would be a shame NOT to do everything with engine out of the car.

You're right about it getting out of hand. Do you polish all the brackets and brake lines etc?

Personally, I'd try to clean the existing paint with compound, and the few areas that don't clean up can be touched up. I'd be more concerned with getting the car back on the road and getting it dialed in the way you want it to run (and stop-you KNOW this project will lead to a brake up grade, if not already done).

What size tires are you running? Those pics make them look quite narrow, especially given the additional torque that you plan on putting down.

205/55/15's are the plan.

I currently have 195/60/15 which are practically brand new.

I run upgraded pads, fluid and SS lines now. Car currently feels great under braking. But we will see. I certainly have to draw a line somewhere in this project. Not sure where that is going to be exactly. We will just have to wait and see.

Where my header goes from 6 into 2, then into one, My AFR is in the 2 into 1 section.

I will have to get a new exhaust adapter to put into this one, as my old header looks like hell.

You can always send the header off to have it recoated - JET Hot does a great job and pretty fast also - another thing you'll kick yourself in but tail for not doing while you have it all out.

OH the new header I ordered from MSA was ceramic coated. I just found the first pic of the reducer I could. Now having said that. I know that the reducer is NOT coated, just the header. So I may send that off, AFTER I get the O2 bung welded in. We will see. I am in wait mode for parts, but today after work I need to get some drop cloths and some painters masking tape so I can start sanding and painting the engine bay. I think I am going to just concentrate on the highly visible areas. I do plan on getting the whole car resprayed in the future, so I will have to think how I want to tackle that as well.

Not sure a few weeks are in the schedule Ben, but I will keep you in mind for sure it this drags out! :)

man, that thing is awesome Ben, I just looked at it. 12cfm of air at 80 psi, you would need a HAUS of a compressor to run that thing.
