Anyone beat a 161 mph in a 55 zone?

I was doing 132mph in a 25mph zone (residential) and got off with an warning!

Another time I was in my friends 240 going down highway 5 and we got pulled over for doing 181mph. He got his licence revoked.

You mean they just gave you a ticket????? I thought that was a "GO STRAIGHT TO JAIL, DO NOT PASS GO" type of offense.

I should elaborate. The ticket was issued by the Nevada Highway Patrol during the Silverstate Race on Hwy 318. They radar each vehicle and then after the race, give you a complementary ticket. This was with my 73 240ZV8.

same friend before he got his licence revoked got a ticket for:

1)speeding in excess

2)exabition of racing

3)reckless driving

and this one is best of all

4)no front licence plate

everytime I get a ticket, it's only for about 10 mph over the limit. I guess I'm just lucky. Had the Z up to 145 once. The funniest ticket I got was when I recieved a parking ticket one night. I ripped up the ticket and threw it out the window. A few days later I also recieved a littering ticket in the mail. ARRRGGG!!

WOW! That is way better then the no licence plate ticket!

Over the years, I have had to many tickets. I have owned fast cars that I got myself into trouble with. 1966 Ford Fairlane 427, 1970 Mustang Mach 1 428 super cobra jet, and even in my 1984 300ZXT which can only go 145 mph. I am sure that with add on's the 300ZXT could go faster, but mine is stock. The 240ZV8 top speed should be 185 mph. I have not taken it up that fast, and speedometer reading would not be accurate. It would have to be radared to know for sure.

my friend that got nailed had a V8 in his Z. 185 sounds about right. Ironicly we were trying to figure out the top speed when he got nailed.

May of 94', HWY 76 between Vista Ca and Ocean Side ,Ca racing a 78' 280 5spd stock against my 75' 280 4spd.

Racing down the freeway....... coming up to an overpass...... we both saw the car in the center lane of a 6 lane Hwy. We split the car and just as we did we both realized it was a CA Hwy Patrol. !

I hammered down, She (78') slammed on the breaks and took the first exit.... The trooper followed her and stopped her.

I thought WoW, missed that one. On 5 going to the airport, I made it to Lahoya CA and got hit by a trooper, I was going the Speed limit so I Was shocked.......

He arrested me for 148 in a 55 in Vista..... DOooooohhh!

Got it dropped! I was in the USMC and was on orders for deployment..... Biggest relief of my life....

Still cost me 180.00 to get out of jail and impound.

Course, my Passport went off so the trooper never found me by the time he turned around in the median.

My ex-husband had a 944, just like the one you mentioned, same year, color and everything. I used to blow his doors off in a quarter mile. The ticket I got the other day was only 81 in a 60!! I don't feel so bad now!! The fastest I have ever had this car was 115. I figure when it gets to the point that you feel like it is about to take flight, it's time to back off!!
