Posted June 21, 201212 yr comment_393617 Hi all, I'll hopefully be checking out my first zed this Friday. After about a year of Craigslist searching it appears I might have found a good start for a solid daily driver.http://battlecreek.craigslist.org/cto/2993960985.htmlI know the seller will try to down play the rust as much as possible, but i'm prepared to scour the body and know when to walk away. Says it the fuel tank was cleaned and resealed with por-15 3 years ago and fuel filter changed with that. But since has developed a rough start issue. He described it as after sitting for a bit, more than a day or two, the engine has some trouble firing up like its not getting enough gas, yet once it has started up it runs fine.I believe the fuel filter should be checked0, Ive read after a tank cleaning the filter could need a change a bit after due to any crud still left over. Quote from the owner "The parts I've installed since ownership are, new fuel injectors, plugs, wires, the two Thermo sencers in the front for the temperature, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, voltage regulator, new elec fuel pump, new front high performance disc rotors and pads, took the turn signal switch apart and cleaned it had a little problem with the lights cutting out once you switch the brights to on, they've worked fine ever since, I don't think the car was ever really neglected, it's just little things that don't last forever with a 36 year old car."The other problem he said was at around 45-55 mpg the pedal can stick where to drop the revs you need to tap the gas once more, almost like a cruise control, I wonder if the throttle linkage or pedal could be sticking. Here are the videos i've been able to get to show some idea on the condition, for the start up vid he says it was the first time its been started in a week or so and it went right up but who knows how much of that is truth. As for the price, immediately after talking about the listing he said he will work on the price, in my mind i'm thinking of a price range of 2500-3500 depending on now rampant the rust has gotten. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v382/skatek610/?action=view¤t=VIDEO0043.mp4http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v382/skatek610/?action=view¤t=VIDEO0044.mp4http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v382/skatek610/?action=view¤t=VIDEO0040.mp4Let me know your thoughts and hope all goes well to join your ranks.
