Hello all.

This is my first post here and would like to say I look forward to getting and hopefully giving useful Zcar information on the forum.

My wife and I both owned Zs when we were younger an lately she has had a desire to get another. So we found one in NC and brought it home. It's is the one in my profile pic. So the partnership goes like this. I fix it, she drives it. Sound familiar? My angle is I won't let her driver it until I have fully tested my repairs and have deemed them safe! ;)

Well that's it in a nut shell.

Glen

I want to get it mechanically sound then structurally. Then let the wife drive it's little wheels off. LOL

I can't do an original frame off restore so I want to make it reliable first and foremost. A guy in NC put the L28 in it along with the 5 spd, a crane cam (yet to be verified), electric fan and the header. Lots of little things to do and clean up and some larger projects (floor pans), all around rubber seals (doors, windows hatch windshield) and new suspension bushings.

Glen, when you do a repair, don't just assume that it is adequate to take the car around the block. I mean, to really ensure it is safe, YOU should be driving the car for a couple weeks-after each repair-you know, just to make sure your wife will be safe.

Holy Cow Zbane nothing to say but BAM! you got me on that one! LOL WOW did I walk into that! :stupid:

tiorber Your right! I should stop being so selfish and double my efforts to keep my darling wife safe! TEST TEST and RETEST!!
