I've not done it, since I have a 240Z only, but I've read on the IZCC list of people doing it. If I recall correctly, you need the brackets etc from the 240, but it's not supposed to be that difficult to do.

I don't think you'd have to change the valance "so you would have blinkers/parking lights". The light are in the grille area and shouldn't be affected by the change of bumper (I think).

I asked is the fact I see many a sweet 280Z. If, in fact the only beef is the bumpers and the annual tribute to the CARB (California Air Resouces Board - AKA "Them Bastards"), Maybe I'll pick one up for a daily driver to take the load off of my 72.

The Ironic thing is, I bought the 72 to take the daily driver chore from the Roadster. WHERE DOES IT END?!? I've dropped so into Z love, the roadster crowd has labeled me a turncoat. I knew this would happen. There was nothing left to do with the Roadster. It's done. Every possible trick item has been bought and installed. I can't deal with a finished project. I knew that once I started working on a Z, first I'd pour great gobs of money into it and get completely submerged into Zdom.

A 72' 240Z as a daily driver?

The advantages of living in California I guess... My wintertime daily driver ( a rather large station wagon ) has a layer of salt on the outside of it nearly an inch thick a the moment.

(At 0F there aren't many car washes operational at the moment)

I somehow don't think the "Z" would hold up well under those conditions...:(
