Define "slight scar". How about a picture? If the damage is significant, and your car is a '78, then you could swap the cam from the N47. It will need to be internally oiled like your '78 cam, so the E88 cams won't work. If you swap the cam, swap the rockers and lash pads at the same time and keep them all in the same order and orientation.

well good thing you said something about putting them back where they went ill have to match wear patterns. but ok that takes that option out just wanted to know if i could do it im about to take some pics. slight as in i can feel it with my nail im going to come back with pics. i do need to ajust them they are all out of wack now. i really thought the thing was blown now if i can find someone to do a grind is that recomended?

You can see the centered line on the top rocker, but the bottom rocker looks scalloped.......like it was adjusted too tight, improper rocker geometry or just plain wore out. How many miles on the valve train?

under 70k but my brother did the ajustment on it while i was in iraq so he might have done something wrong when he went with factory specs from the fsm that i have it ticked really bad then he did some digging and found other specs that stoped it from ticking but it did have a slight whin to it.
