ok this cam tower bolt is broken and i have ran it with no problem just not on the road or over 2500. i know these are more for alignment the anythig so is it ok to run it as is or should i have this nasty thing removed. im getting out of the army and running short on time and tools. i might have a long trip to ohio in the near coming winter.post-23901-14150819742667_thumb.jpg

I would fix it but you need to make sure no burrs would go into your engine during the operation.

The load to push the valves down are counteracted by the towers so there're definitely loads going thru those parts.

ok getting quotes now i would have tools to do this but the army really frown on tools in the barraks so its hard to work on your own stuff here.

Navy Veteran here; we always had Auto Hobby Shop or as the Marines and Air Force call them Auto Skills Centers on the bases where I was assigned. You can go there and rent a booth to work on your car. The Hobby Shop loans you all the tools you need. My buddy and I are doing a Resto-Mod to a 71Z at the Auto Skills Center on the Marine Recruit Depot here in San Diego. Does your Army Post have a Hobby Shop/Auto Skills Center?
