ZZZ 240 plates in Perth

Yeah most likely they are the Horiblie old Blue plates.

I used to have ZZ 240. that was 10 years ago, Z 240 was already gone, and i think ZZZ 240 was gone at the time also.

With the new plates you can get any combination of letters and numbers up to 9 characters, so you can actuall get 240Z if they aint gone already.

Have you noticed all the plates for sale. I think every time a new car comes out someone gets plates for it then sells them, even though they dont have the car. So for example I could get 350Z for around $300 from the Licencing department, then turn around and sell them for $3500. And it's legal. RX8 anybody? I dont even think you have to own a car to do this.

Well it apears 240z's aren't that rare in perth.

I went for a driive down to Freo to look at a celica XX supra (which turned out to be the older model, not the newer one), and saw 2 of them. One on the way there and one on the way back.

Whoever owns the red/orange one with the personal plates and the original 240z side stripes that was at leighton beach today, I want your car!

Sell it to me, name your price.

P.S. The sandblasted 260 in warnbro is a 2+2.

What, you mean "ugly toad" is still available for the 350z?ROFL

They should make it in the new commodore green colour.

You guessed!

Did you stick a note under his window? The sad fact is that there may be a rare few 240Z owners who are (a) not enthusiasts and (B) not hooked up to the internet...:(

Why do I never see them anyway...?

Could be that the orange/red 240 with the side stripes is owned by an old guy who bought the car in 1979. He visits my parents neighbours in freo every now and then. Thats how I got into zeds. Great car had a drive of it the other day. very original. there is no way he will ever sell it.

Sorry guys.

Hi Guy's

There are still some good plates left, I recently picked up plates for my car, got plate 240 ZED which is period (black lettering on white plate)

As you may have guessed plate, 240Z went a long time ago, wish I new who owned it.

There are still some good ones left though so worth checking

When I checked a while ago plate 350z was available, I decided to buy it for the sole purpose of selling it later (hopefully to make a good profit and then spend the proceeds on a real z car)

anyway waited a couple of weeks and then rang to see if it was still available, it was but you can't secure them over the phone so thought I would wait a few more days until I had a day off, unfortunately waited just a little bit too long and someone else beat me to it (such is life!!)

BTW the plate ZZZ240 that is for sale in the quokka started off at $1000.00 and was on a 240 advertised last year in the safety bay

Regards

Lee

no way I'm paying $1000 for those plates.

that sort of cash will go a long way towards rebuilding suspension.

on that note, does anyone know the best place to get a full set of bushes for the front and rear end. W.A suspensions don't seem that interested in getting me any.

p.s the side stripes on the grey z (attachment) are just the same as the ones on the orange zed in freo.

Can anyone down under explain how plates are issued down there and why a set would be $1000 AUD?

In USA, we get plates from our states (usually) and pay either a small fee ($35US) or a fee plus a percentage of car value. They ae assigned to the car, not the person in most states.

How does it work down yonder?
