Over here you get your standard plates, the there are a variety of personalised plates, tossers in honda have things like F1 and Rocket etc. These plates are not assigned to a specific car as such,a nd the owner can sell them off (usually at a profit) when they get sick of them.

A great way to get some coin then.

Get some custom aussie plates with the same numbers as US plates, then swap them. Guess it would look better on a US car though.
