Help!! I do not want to remove the panels inside the door, so any ideas on how to install side mirrors?

1973 240Z named Ted, have had him forever, and no I don't want any other car.Husband has tried to get me a new car, with one stipulation, "get rid of Ted". I don't think so. He is just mad cause I won't let him drive him. That's why he has lasted so long, LOL

for stock mirrors panel must be remove,in order to bolt in or out, after market some do , some don't, other choice drill holes on the out side of the door for universal type side mirrors ;)

Years ago-in my low drag Z stage I added a wide view panoramic rearview mirror to one of my Zs to get rid of the side mirrors. It had seven panes, and clipped on the visor mounts and after some adjustment I did not need side mirrors, Recently, I tried one in the convertible in getting ready for Z dayZ, and found that the single pane versions work better for people shorter than me. It might just be a solution for you-depending on your height.

after a ton of research, this is what I bought most recently-this is not to endorse their product, but to give you a place to learn more about it-the site is very informative.

There is a type of mirror that rivets into the stainless steel trim piece AND the stainless door frame, (I don't recommend them and I took them off my car). Also, there are mirrors that screw directly into the door metal-once again, not recommended.

Removing the door panels is not that bad as long as you are careful prying off the clips, so that you do not tear the board.

Also, you might consider getting rid of the husband, if his demands do not become more reasonable. Just a thought.

A though by someone looking for a significant other his Z will approve of! Makes me with I'da thunk it!

There's no other way except to take off the door panel and it takes patience to even tighten the lone side mirror which tends to loosen over time. There are a lot of after-market products out there. Goodluck in your search for a good one for Ted!
