Posted August 5, 201212 yr comment_397710 I have a very slight leak, when I blow air into the brake booster bung, around the AFM boot, from the throttle body to AFM, it curls up on the ends from those dang Datsun 2 wire clamps. Since it is before the throttle plate should it affect the manifold vacuum? I could get wide hose clamps and stop it probably but if it doesn't matter what does it matter? It's the connection from AFM to throttle body accordion hose that won't seal. It's been a long morning, sorry. August 5, 201212 yr comment_397716 That boot leaking would be counted as a vacuum leak, as the air entering the throttle body would not be metered by the AFM. If it were the Air cleaner to AFM boot I would not worry so much. August 6, 201212 yr comment_397828 What Grant said! I don't understand why the boot won't seal, though. Are you sure there's not a rip or crack in the boot? I've never had any problem with the wire clamps. In fact I greatly prefer them to the band clamps.
