August 7, 201212 yr comment_397916 If you are looking at "kit" cars then look at local registration and smog laws before putting money down. In some states they are treated as new cars and must meet most of the new car safety and smog requirements. Also, make sure you really, really want a race car. They are loud, hot, very uncomfortable, and a pain in the arse. Plus you'll need a trailer that it can actually get the car on (look how low that front is) and you'll need space for a second set of tires, tools, fuel, etc. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/44043-modifying-vs-building-out-right/#findComment-397916 Share on other sites
August 7, 201212 yr Author comment_397920 John, as always you make great, informed and educational posts-I have an Alpha1Gto Rebody kit on a 77 280Z with an L28ET running on the '77 electronics-it is pretty quick for what it is, but instead of jumping in and bringing everything in it S30 to the current state of the art, my though was that $ for $ the SLC would be a far better value performance wise.
