cbuczesk Posted August 9, 2012 Share #18 Posted August 9, 2012 Very cool Chuck.......you're serious about those little guys! And the big ones... Here are 5 of my 6 Zs. The white Z is #390. The Z that's missing is my first car. It's a 1975 280Z that I bought in 1986. Chuck

Carl Beck Posted August 9, 2012 Share #20 Posted August 9, 2012 Strange that his description says it is in white when it is clearly orange - just like mine. It is a VERY misleading Ad. The First Issue of the Franklin Mint 240Z Model was Orange. I believe they produced 1000 in Orange. They are hard to come by. The Second "Limited" Edition was White and they produced 2500 of them - they came numbered and with White Gloves included. I bought two of them a couple years ago for $65.00 each as they were being cleared out. The Seller has the WHITE one for sale - and they usually don't bring the money that the Orange one will. What is even harder to find is the Display Case..Nonetheless - the Franklin Mint Models are very very detailed - where all other die casts are far less accurate. You can read the VIN on the Dash of the Franklin Mint Models. IMHO the original Orange Franklin Mint Models were worth the original $125.00 price if you appreciate fine detail and craftsmanship.Bill restored the car and sold it - the following owner re-restored it and put a lot more time and money into the restoration. Then it was used as the model - to produce the Franklin Mint die cast.FWIW,Carl B.

If you or anyone else is interested I'll be racing at Summit Point Sep 1-3. Look for the #0 and #00 white 240Zs near pit entrance. hls30.com Posted August 9, 2012 Share #24 Posted August 9, 2012 Now the question is was the last purchase a shill, or did someone get caught by the "No Returns" after he figured out his enthusiasm got the best of him with an impulse/convenience buy.
