Hello all!!! First time class 260Z buyer in need of advice

I have just received a 1974 260z in pretty good shape. Minimal surface rust on the lip of the front skirt. The transmission is the stock 4 speed and the engine is a swap from the same year and model Z. The guy who I bought it from also gave me the transplant car the engine was from bc it is a great "roller and parts car" and is holding the stock matching numbers engine for my drivable Z.

I have been researching this car for some time now but I am curious of what everyone recommends to be my first things to check/upgrade/modify/tune. Thanks very much and please check out the photos that I have uploaded and give me and any all tips/advice/recommendations.

Looks like you have a real good starting point to work with. I would go over the suspension, brakes and hoses first, lubrication second, time and tune and drive. Nice car Herman.

Since carbs are very hard to rebuilt, i would put early carbs!

Look again, he is running round top SU's already, just check the damper lube and let er eat. I would concentrate on the aformentioned stuff and go after the carb tuning after you get the car running (if possible). It's always easier to chase down problems one at a time, if you mess with too many things at once you end up chasing your tail.

I agree with you on this very much so. But my Z is in running condition already, I would like to change out the hoses right off the bad and as for the carbs, I am running the stock round tops but I did also get a full on cards car with 2 other sets of carbs (be it they both need to be rebuild) the weber side mount top induction ones as well as some flat top SUs (which I would like to put on to my 260). But I will be taking this car one problem at a time and knowing a good starting point is helpful bc at the same time that I will be making my 260z a great everyday driver, I am going to be rebuilding its stock engine with any and all power mods (keeping it's stock matching numbers engine in it) as possible that I pulled from the parts car.

I did however, just notice a slight issue with my Z. The throttle can go about 2/3 the way to the floor with good resistance, then it just hits the floor boards and the throttle stays wide open until the kill the engine. I'm going to have to examine that issue real quick. Any advise on that would be greatly appreciated.
