August 17, 201212 yr comment_398924 Sounds like a clutch problem. Does the car want to creep when it's in gear with your foot on the clutch? August 17, 201212 yr comment_398961 silvey19k, the symptoms you are talking about is exactly what my car did for about 3 weeks before the master cylinder for the clutch went bad. I am going to replace all the parts the master the slave and the hose on the car this weekend. You can see the discussion in this thread. August 17, 201212 yr comment_398962 You can try bleeding/flushing the clutch with new fluid. I always shift into 3rd and then quickly into reverse to prevent the grinding.Chuck Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/44128-ok-z-running-like-a-time-bomb-and-trans-is-really-sticky/#findComment-398962 Share on other sites
August 17, 201212 yr comment_398990 Hard 2 shift = clutch not fully disengaging. IS typically a lot worse on reverse and can cause grinding. Throw a new slave cylinder at it for $20 or less, bleed it good, 20 minute job tops, and if that still doesn't fix it, rebuild your master.
