August 19, 201212 yr comment_399198 The large thing there is the center under the crank pulley is the oil pump. It's more then likely not leaky coolant, its probably leaking from above and coming down all way there. If you look at the top left of the picture you can see coolant sitting on one of the bolts up there. Something above there is leaking. Check the water pump, hoses and all the fitting that the hoses go to. Hope that helpsJan Edited August 19, 201212 yr by Pomorza Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/44145-engine-part-identification/#findComment-399198 Share on other sites
August 19, 201212 yr comment_399199 Check the weep holes on the water pump. (I can't remember whether or not the S30 water pumps have them.) I would not be surprised if your water pump was giving up the ghost. August 19, 201212 yr Author comment_399203 so does the oil pump appear to be leaking given its covered in dried oil/grease? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/44145-engine-part-identification/#findComment-399203 Share on other sites
August 19, 201212 yr comment_399204 The oil pump will leak if its missing that thin paper gasket but make sure you know what you're doing if you take it down to check it Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/44145-engine-part-identification/#findComment-399204 Share on other sites
August 19, 201212 yr comment_399205 I would suggest cleaning it first. Then you might be able to trace the source of the oil that is covering it.
