I was wondering what the dimensions (width wise) of the rubber inner shift boots for a 1973 manual were? My trans tunnel doesn't have one and the holes where a typical inner boot would be are actually on the four far corners (and not two on the top and bottom on the right, and two in the middle on the left). I'm thinking the previous owner may have modded the hole or something. So I was just wondering, before I bought one, what the dimensions on the inner shift boots that you could buy now were...

Here's a link to a picture of the '73 inner shift boot:

You'll also need a metal retaining ring that fits over the bolt holes and secures the boot to the tunnel. It's an ebay, junk yard, or local high school metal shop project item. I used the high school when I needed to find one.
