Help with fuel pump!

Hey guys need some help with a electric fuel pump thats not working, just finishing the resto on this 71 240z so almost everthing is new including the motor, running a HLH upgrade as well as a MSA 60 amp zx alt. We started the car for the first time at the mechanics no problems then loaded onto the trailer to go back to my place fired it back up to drive it into the garage and all seemed fine, About a week later went to start it and the battery was dead so i charged the battery again which now works fine but the fuel pump doesn't work when I turn the ignition switch on (pump connected via a toggle switch which is on). I've tried a multimeter and tested for 12v at the fuel pump and at the connector under the dash and 0 voltage? Any ideas please?

You say that you have the pump powered through a toggle switch. Where does the power to the toggle switch come from? What "connector under the dash" are you testing for voltage?

If it worked before, the most likely problem is a loose connection or blown fuse.

Checked all the connections and it now looks like a dodgy fuel pump. In regards to the draining battery I'm told the the 240z amp gauge is constantly drawing on the battery which is why the battery is draining and to upgrade to a 260z volt gauge.

Well, someone is blowing smoke up your backside. An ammeter does not have an appreciable current draw.
