This is starting to turn into skyline club? Well thats fine by me. Those cars are just great too...Where did you import it from?

Atleast the engine is l-series...I would guess that the Differential is similar but rest is not...Not so sure about the gearbox..

Can imagine much similarities because they are so different type of vehicles... Maybe some nuts and bolts...=)

Wow!!! From Japan I guess? If you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay? (I dream of one day importing one of those...) How much is importing an old car like that these days? Is it a GTR? Did the coupe's come in anything else?

I'd LOVE to see some pics if you have any - alfadog@bigpond.net.au is my email...

As for being similar to the 240Z, I'd imagine they share a few parts, but I don't think many members here would know - most of us probably haven't ever seen one of those!

By the way, do you know of any older Skyline appreciation clubs or anything in Aus?

KGC10 Skyline Coupe if I remember correctly these are the non GTR coupe's but basically the same shape car. Powered by the L20 engine. So it would share a few things I'd assume the gearbox would interchangeable and the differentials. I recently read an article about one of these which had been modified to look like a GTR version KPGC10. It had a worked L28 with over 300HP non turbo. Sounds like alot of fun.

If anyone would know about the mechanicals and their similarities to the Z I think it would be Alan.

Sorry Alan to involve u ROFL .

Many Thanks,

C-Red. Post some pictures please, I'd like to know what it looks like. It it the 240K looking type.

A friend of mine had a C210? series Skyline 2000GT (Turbo L20 6 cyl) coupe about 10 yeas ago in Perth. Pretty nice car, electric everything, just a little strange looking.

Looked exactly like this picture

Hi Jash,

Congratulations on your new 'Hakosuka'.

In Japan, the C10 series Skyline and the S30 series Z have always been seen as 'brother and sister', so its kind of appropriate that you ask the question here.

You won't find much that is interchangeable between the S30-series Z and the C10 Skylines, except of course the engines, transmissions and diffs. Certain brake parts are swappable, but it really depends on what exact model you have and what is still standard or has been modified. Lots of parts will look very familiar to a Z owner, but there are cases where minor differences can make the parts non-interchangeable.

The rear suspension on the C10 was completely different to that of the Z, and that is probably the biggest and most apparent difference under the skin.

Actually, with such a high survival rate for the C10 series Skylines in Japan there is a pretty good situation for genuine Nissan spare parts, and replicas for those items NLA. At least the body panel situation is better than that for the Z.

Here in the UK there is only ONE two-door C10 Skyline. Its a KGC10 that had a half-hearted GT-R makeover in Japan, and was imported privately by a very gullible young lady who used an importing agent to find a car for her. It turned out to be a real shed, and is still unroadworthy. Its a really sad tale of somebody being ripped off by an inept and unscrupulous trader. He got her money and she found that the small print did not cover her. A very sad tale.

I'm sure yours is much better than that. I have a fair bit of data and literature on those models, so if you think I can be of any help then please don't hesitate to ask.

All the best,

Alan T.

Hi All,

Jeff Ash owns C-Red Tuning, a Japanese car importing outfit in Perth W.A.

Here is a link to the car that he is talking about, it is the blue '72 Skyline.

And yes, Alan does have lots of literature on this model (as well as the S30 cars) so give him a question or two, or three!

The rear-end of the C10 is the same design as the P510/610 but I do not know if the arms are the same. I wouldn't be surprised if they are the same since they are both C1970 vehicles....

Just to clarify on what Lachlan said, the "P" stands for the S20 engine. Thus, KPGC10, KPGC110, and our favs, PS30 and PS30-SB.

I followed the link that you posted Cuong, but it did not work. Anyways, I would love to see pics of that GC10 of yours Jeff. I am proud to say that I saw one of these cars up close and personal and it was breath taking. It was a GC10:classic:.
