Nissan FAST Software Work With Win7 ?

Does the FAST software work with Windows 7 ?

Before I bother to take the time and space to install only to find it doesn't work...

If not, you could always create a WinXP virtual machine. Microsoft offers one for free. I used it at work to create a virtual machine on a Win7 computer so that we could run old software that was only XP compatible.

Im running window 7 on my laptop and im not nerdy enough to get the dam thing running in any usable fashion:cry:. It works on my old pc running windows xp sp1. Dont install xp sp2. I did that and Nissan Fast freaked and wouldnt search the database. Sucess:finger:

So you tried it on your Win7 laptop and it did not work?

I really don't want to start messing with virtual machines. I've avoided it to this point in my life and I'm not itchin to start now. Although... I've got a Win 3.1 program that I really miss. It worked fine up until the transition from XP to 7.

The Microsoft's virtual machine is pretty easy to use. If you want to use FAST, you really should try it. Heck, if I can remember, I will try it for you this weekend.

SteveJ, That would be awesome. Could you please check for compatibility running under straight Win 7 before you run it under the virtual XP? I believe EuroDat had a problem under Win 7, but who knows... Maybe it might not happen to everyone?

I have had fast running on Windows 7 since December of of last year...no issues what so ever-but then That is was the then latest version of Fast-Version 4.80 A1-12/2011 on DVD- marked Nissan Fast for Windows XP under help/version.

I still have my first set of 2002 disks somewhere around....

I downloaded my copy from http://www.xenonz32.com/reference.html. That's the one that ran on my old XP machine until my machine went belly up. I don't remember what version it was, and I can't use the old machine to check...

Any idea what version that is at xenonz32?

Bruce83 and I worked on the installation documentation many years ago, Probably 2005 or so...the RaR file might be newer, but probably not as the efast part number info is not usually updated other than to move outdated(though not necessarily unavailable) part numbers to service file status.

I get new versions regularly...

Well, if it's any hint as to the age of the version used, the install docs talk some about Win 2000.

What does one need to do to get new versions regularly?

I don't think the installation has changed since then...I just run the install and copy the bin file to the windows/system subdirectory...never had an issue, but I update whenever I get a new version/new computer.

I just checked my version of Fast. Version 4.15 A1/3-2003. Probably why Im having trouble in Windows 7.

Anyone know where I can download a later version?
