Posted September 9, 201212 yr comment_401060 One of the side seals in my R180 diff are leaking. I've never replaced the side seal on a 180. I've replaced it on an R200 but not the 180. I assume you remove the bolt in the center of the flange and simply pull it out, but I don't like trial and error. The factory manual is not very helpful. Anyone help me with this? Thanks. September 10, 201212 yr comment_401127 I did this a few weeks ago. I removed the bolt, popped out the flange, removed the seal and then reversed the procedure.Chuck Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/44351-r180-diff-side-seal-replacement/#findComment-401127 Share on other sites

September 15, 201212 yr Author comment_401676 What's the proper torque for that center bolt in the flange? Looks like the FSM calls for 13 to 18 foot lbs. .......is that correct? September 15, 201212 yr comment_401677 That sounds right. I tightened it by hand till it felt tight. I don't like using a torque wrench on those low settings ever since I snapped off a pressure plate bolt. If you're concerned about it coming loose just put a little blue loctite on the threads.Chuck Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/44351-r180-diff-side-seal-replacement/#findComment-401677 Share on other sites
