weatherstrip kit

Only a side-by-side listing of the component parts of the two kits will answer your question. You will still end up purchasing a few items individually no matter which one you go with. Be advised, unless otherwise specified, both sources get their components from Precision Replacement Parts (PRP). The PRP items are generally nice products but have a history of poor fit for the doors, windshield, and hatch glass. The genuine Nissan parts for the doors, windshield and hatch glass are still available and have a perfect fit. Kia Sportage door gaskets have also been used on S30 Z's with excellent results (I have them). Vintage Rubber makes excellent replacements for all items, they are pricey. Search the forums and you will find a wealth of info on this topic. Good luck.

About a year ago I bought some after markets - regretted it from day one. Removed them and bit the bullet for OEM Nissan (as Walter stated above) and I have never regretted it since. The doors close easier AND CORRECTLY and the road noise was less - well as least as can be on a 40+ year old thin sheet metal car :) Jim is right --- Go with OEM on Doors, Windshield and rear hatch - if you have to skimp on the others then you must, but remember OEM works best. Hope this helps.

Can you guys confirm that this (insane) price for OEM door strips is correct?

http://www.courtesyparts.com/240z-260z-280z-parts-s30-1970-1978/weather-stripping/-c-7724_7754.html

Also the discrepancy between left and right door seal prices?

I need them.. but Im just a little dizzy after seeing the $$$$

Edit: just noticed its for a 2+2 apparently. Anyone have a part number for 74 260z door seals? Reasonable price?

The last door seals I purchased last year - were the two last one's in the Country for a 73 240Z. Courtesy had one and a Dealer in California had the other. As I recall they were around $500.00 total, plus shipping. That was for Seals with the new Pinch Welting attached.

You are lucky if any for the 260Z's are actually still available. At this point $500.00 for both of them seems reasonable to me..

The last OEM NOS rear window Seal I had installed - split from age within a year. Now it has to be replaced again..

FWIW,

Carl B.

I bought my door seals at a Nissan dealer using the part numbers from the CD that this site sells (or used to sell).

They fit perfectly.

Couldn't find the CD with the parts numbers here. Can anyone direct me to a place to buy it?

Thats disconcerting.. Both the price, and the fact that your OEM strips cracked after only a year.

Im going to call Nissan Canada when I get home today, but can someone recommend an aftermarket complete seal for the doors? The ones I have in place were butchered by the previous owner (and further by me) in an attempt to get the doors closing properly.

Which company makes the best, most oem-like strips? Vintage Rubber looks promising but I havent heard any first hand account of door seal fitment specifically.

I have to ditto on the MSA door pieces. I bought and installed them in 2000 and the first time you see water leaking in you are definitely not happy. The door never closed properly either. I am going to spend what it costs to have it like it should be. I have read some happy results by those that used the Kia part.
