November 15, 201212 yr comment_406931 Tested my vintage rubber kit last weekend and it works great...doors, hatch, etc...the hatch is a but "high" but the seal will sit down over time. I had to put a but of silicone grease at the top of the hatch as the body kept pushing the seal over and now it sits fine. I'm pleased. November 17, 201212 yr comment_407085 Les uses Vintage Rubber parts. Based on his recommendation, I purchased a Vintage Rubber kit last week instead of Factory parts. I ordered the kit directly from Vintage at his request.Les at Classic Datsun Motorsports has another manufacturer. Check with him as well... November 18, 201212 yr comment_407173 Been there, done that. All I can say is Vintage Rubber is worth every cent. If its worth the time and money to replace, spend a little more.Genuine is the best but I wonder how old the genuine nissan parts are these days? If they have been on the shelf for 20years there wont be much life left. November 18, 201212 yr comment_407178 I have to see about replacing most of my seals on my 76 280z. Kinda an ouch for that $1300 price tag with Vintage Rubber since I am just looking to have mine up to driver quality with a maybe being a little nicer. Was considering trying to look around a few junkyards for the Kia Sportage door strips to save a few dollars and get the rest of the pieces separately from MSA, and maybe be able to skip out on a few that way as well, but not many pieces (mainly quarter windows and front windshield). Of course, one day I hope to have the kind of money to just have my 280z completely redone professionally Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/44441-weatherstrip-kit/?&page=2#findComment-407178 Share on other sites
