Posted September 30, 201212 yr comment_402963 Hey guys, I just want to make sure before I spend the money, but will the doors off a '76 coupe fit correctly on my '78 coupe? I've got conflicting answers on my searches and want to be sure before I go to the pick and pull and strip all the good parts. Thanks for the help. October 1, 201212 yr comment_402970 76 doors do NOT fit on 77-78 cars. The latches are totally different. They are the same shape, hinges mount, but it can't mate up with your striker. When you go see it, you'll notice the difference. There were several recent posts about this read them again.Just past thru Vernal last week on our way back from zcon. Felt at home in nice oil patch business everywhere driven town... No place to stay, all hotels were booked, had to carry on up to Rock Springs Wy. Patch must be doing well! If anyone needs doors, there are a really nice set off a '76 280z at GJ Metal Movers in Grand Junction, CO. zKars, you're right about the oil patch. It's really booming in our area. October 2, 201212 yr comment_403147 Negative! I believe that the latches are different. Look closely, the hardware is noticeably different. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/44545-door-interchangeability/#findComment-403147 Share on other sites
