halz Posted January 29, 2003 Share #13 Posted January 29, 2003 Hmmm. Chris you can always walk away, there will be other cars. In future (or maybe even now) say that you'd like to have another look at the car and take some cash with you. Make him an offer - a low one and say that you can pay half now in cash and half when you collect the car. The sight of a few thousand in your hand will usually be enough to have him close the deal then and there. Ask him if cash is OK - it always is!...The point is, always negotiate a deal in person if you can.By the way, at the time of your visit, you will be keenly interested in another car (doesn't have to be Z) and its between him and the other unknown (an non-exisant vehicle). You would prefer to buy his car, even though its more expensive but gee, if he won't take your offer you'll just have to give the other guy a call right now...Another point, try to get in touch with the other buyer (if he really exists) and offer him $250 to withdraw his interest in 'your' car. then you'll know the field is clear.Just my two bobs worth... Daniel Posted January 29, 2003 Share #14 Posted January 29, 2003 Of course you could just post his phone number and we all could call him around the clock just to "talk about his car'.After a few days and nights of constant phone calls he might just say-Take that damn thing!!! Arizona240z Posted January 29, 2003 Share #15 Posted January 29, 2003 and wait for the next one. I'd be suspicious of what he is doing. Are you positive that he has another bidder? When he calls back saying that the other guy won't match the offer tell him your priced dropped by a few $$$.Dwight
