My 10/69 Fairlady ZL has them too.

With more Datsun 240Z's being exported from the US to Europe now, there will be an increased demand for the Euro Spec Tail Lights. They are required and some countries will not give a waver, so they have to be swapped into former US Spec. Z's.

The last couple pairs I saw in like condition went for $1200.00 or above. Shipping from Sweden would most likely be less than from the US.

If someone in Scandinavia wants a Z... email me I'll even re-wire/relay turn indicator circuit and graft in orange plastic as a temporary solution to get them on the road until a correct set of tail lights can be sourced.

...These harnesses will allow the change without snipping wires, but the JDM harnesses will not connect to the USA-spec body harness, so so a bunch of jumper wires will be necessary. If anyone gets a set of these and needs help with getting them wired, post here or send me a PM and I'll walk you through it.

This is a must-do consideration if you are considering the change to a set of lenses with the Amber turn signal. Sadly there are a lot of cars who have the Amber Lenses installed without this lighting modification having been performed and then it just looks dumb.

That listing seems to be from 2009 - - wonder if he still has any? If a Repro is worth $885.00 I suppose originals would be worth something more than that. I don't think I would sell mine {excellent used} for less than $1100.00.

I have nether heard of anyone using the repo taillights. The japanese company made 100, the first 20 or so had blemishes and the rest were ok. Don't know how they stand up to UV over time.

I looked into making my own. One thing is certain, its a lot of work to make them and a lot of trial and error. The chromed plastic pieces can cost up to $200 a set just to get chromed. It could be a good option in the future since the originals are now around 40 years old and supply is running out.

These ones on ebay look dam good for their age. They Came from a car that was looked after a lot, probably always in the garage or under cover. I wonder way they still not on the car?

Doesn't surprise me. 4 people willing to pay $1200.00 or more, 2 people willing to pay $1500.00. I guess I shouldn't sell mine now for less than ....$1250.00.
