Direct fit, wiring trouble etc? Also, would a rack and pinion and power steering pump from a 280zx fit the 1973 240z, I have the L28 engine.. will I be able to mount the PS pump on the l28? olzed Posted October 18, 2012 Share #2 Posted October 18, 2012 Yes the pump will fit if you have an electric fuel pump.-- I went for a smaller pump with a remote resovoir, mounted under the inspection lid on the right side, used the main belt to drive the pump. What rack are you thinking of?. I used a Subaru rack on my 72 and it works well. Not a straight swap though. My pump is from a Hyundai Lantra from Pick a Part. Has the correct pulley, and I bolted it on using an alloy adaptor plate where the fuel pump usually bolts.
dpascual1986 Posted October 18, 2012 Author Share #3 Posted October 18, 2012 do you mind if we swap digits? I would like to know more about this swap. Which model subaru was it and for what year? I wonder why a 280zx is not the preferred rack... why use a subaru when a 280zx rack seems logical.
