Love my 72 240Z Posted October 25, 2012 Author Share #13 Posted October 25, 2012 ZKars and Carl, Just called Graham, Texas and they had Two (2) in-stock @ $109.00 each. I went ahead and bit the bullet and snagged one .. it hurt to buy it for that price knowing (at some point in the recent past) the price was half, but I guess that is the way the ball bounces Thank y'all very much for info and I will put AMC Discount parts in my file. Thanks again.
Carl Beck Posted October 26, 2012 Share #14 Posted October 26, 2012 (edited) Hi David:Please let us know if you actually get them. I also called and was told they had them. When they went an looked in the inventory shelves they found they had none. When I finally called after waiting two weeks- they saidl "Oh..sorry we meant to call you..They USED to have them listed on this Page of their Web Site - I see they have removed that listing at this point. At the time they had this info:70 71 72 73 NISSAN 24OZ HEATER CORE Item#: 9378 2251Price: $109.99Shipping + $15.001-800-900-9560 http://www.marketworks.com/storefrontprofiles/deluxesfshop.aspx?c=421891&sfid=75198&sid=0I called before ordering on-line to make sure they actually had them.. and was told that yes they had them - so I ordered 2.Good luck - I hope you actually get one... if not I hope it doesn't take a major effort to get the charges taken off your credit card.FWIW,Carl B. Love my 72 240Z Posted October 29, 2012 Author Share #15 Posted October 29, 2012 Carl, Just called, since the box has not been delivered to me. They are working trying to locate a 2" (240Z) instead of the 2 1/2" (280Z) all they had on the shelf was 2 1/2". I want to trust they are doing a good job ... but am growing more skeptical with each passing day I did remind the gentleman on the phone that if he could get more than one -- that you (Carl) would be interested in purchasing TWO (2) from him. maybe that will motivate him knowing a few more sales are waiting for him. BTW, if I have to drive over there in person I can ... it is only 1 hour from my house I will keep you updated - Thanks
Love my 72 240Z Posted October 30, 2012 Author Share #16 Posted October 30, 2012 Alright guys and Carl ... my cell phone just rang (10:45am CT) and the AMC Discount Parts folks CANNOT get the 2" (240Z) heater core and the reproduction facilities will only be making 2 1/2 (260Z & 280Z) from now on. Guys, looks like we are on our own. Thanks for all y'alls help. Have a great day.

72240Z Posted November 2, 2012 Share #19 Posted November 2, 2012 I was searching for one a while back for my 72 and never did find one. Fortunately I'm not in need at this time, but I'm shipping the car overseas to my brother and he wanted all that kind of stuff replaced. I'd still be up for a group buy if somebody would make one available. I'm not on here a whole lot but would appreciate an email if that happens. hotrod64chevy@yahoo.comThanks,Devin
racin510 Posted March 10, 2013 Share #20 Posted March 10, 2013 I am just trying to figure all this out. I pulled the original heater core out of my late '71 and the core is a full 21/2" thick, not 2". It's taller and wider than 280 ones on the market. So why won't a 280 one fit in my box? I wish I could find one to try out but someone should know. One difference I see is the 90deg pipe on the 240 is angled upward while the 280 angles straight back. I would think this could be worked around.
