two z or not two z?

hey all

so i've been thinking about this since i stopped driving my 280z a couple of months ago and wanted to get some insight from those of you that have or at some point had two different types of z's or two z's.

while my 260z is offline i thought it'd be a good idea to have a daily and make my 260z a quasi-daily. i missed driving a z so why not have a daily z and a quasi z. one that's comfortable (with a heater and a/c) and one that's fun. plus i thought it'd be cool to ask "which z today?" i saw a 280z 2+2 and loved it, drained my repair funds, bought it. two different cars. one hefty one light. i really liked how it sounds and ran great but it sprung a gas leak and that drained the fun out of it. the only thing i didn't like about the 280 is the cat converter and the whole floor temp. it's hot enough here in so cal. plus it needs attention sooner rather than later and low on funds. that made me think about keeping the car. i mean i really don't need two cars, i know when it comes down to it i'm gonna be driving one more than the other. so i'm at a crossroad.

so what's it like for you having two z's?

why or what made you keep/sell your other z?

or if you currently have one, what if you had another?

who is your daddy and what does he do?

Two??? Nobody has just two! LOL. I have 6. 2 are projects, 1 is for racing only, 1 is a race car but I also have tags for it and the other 2 are street legal turbocharged 260Z and 240Z. I like having the option of driving different cars whenever I like. Since they're old the insurance isn't much. There will be work and cost up front to make them reliable cars. They're simple to work on and I have garages full of parts so owning more than one isn't a problem for me.

why or what made you keep/sell your other z?

I sold some because they were parts cars or I ran out of space and wanted to buy a different car. I've kept my current ones because they're so much fun! That said, I might sell my 74 260Z turbo next year to regain some garage space.

or if you currently have one, what if you had another?

N/A

who is your daddy and what does he do?

I have 2 in 1, the Classic lines of an iconic vintage Japanese Sport Car and the drivetrain from an iconic modern American Sport Car . Best of both worlds, looks that create envy, plus power-reliability-ease of maintenance and she gets 30 MPG ;)

i forgot i had started this thread, hehe. i forget that these z are notorious for wining on the track.

having a franken-z would be awesome, just use the shell and put in a newer system specially if it's 30 MPG.

having a 30yr+ car would be expensive for DD not to mention draining the restore funds.

well i had decided to sell the 280, keep using the 94 accord as DD, and work on 260. the accord started having heating issues and after no luck selling and some random time off i decided to fix a fuel leak so it can be more "sellable." that turned into new injectors, hoses, clamps, filters, oil, starter, battery and cleaned up the debauchery that was the fuse box. runs really good, too good. so i'm obviously gonna be driving it around for a while, hehehe.

so, for the time being... two z.
