Posted November 21, 201212 yr comment_407430 My 71 Z is coming along but I need the plastic hooks that you hang the (non-retracable in 71) seat belts on when not in use.Anybody have any? Or any suggestions on where (or how) I can get them? Thanks in advance. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/44991-seat-belt-hooks/ Share on other sites

If so I may have a set.JLPI don't know what "series 2" cars are. These are plastic hooks with a single screw hole that mounts then to the inside of the car below the small side window. You hang the belts on them.I thought I would find something I could use at Home Depot but no luck.My car is a 71 240, what hooks do you have? What are they from?I appreciate your response. November 22, 201212 yr comment_407452 Soi disant "Series 1" cars include both 1970 and early '71 models, through about 1/71 build dates. "Series 2" cars (aka "late '71") are the remaining '71s. For Series 1, the hooks were actually mounted on the seat back, not the rear quarter panel. So it sounds like you have a Series 2. I may also have one or two left in my stash of misc. plastic parts. I'll look tomorrow. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/44991-seat-belt-hooks/#findComment-407452 Share on other sites

November 27, 201212 yr comment_407845 Jerry, I stink at computers. Yeah, us puter nerds used to be that way in college, but we started taking showers... (just kidding )As an aside, is there something like a clamp, that will prevent the belt from retracting? Sometimes you want to put it on without having to pull it out so slowly, like on a rally, where every second counts. There was a little hook and you had to hang them up when not in use. November 28, 201212 yr comment_407881 If anyone has another of the items OP is requesting, I'm looking for one as well. I feel bad for my passengers right now because the belt is at a bad angle for many of them.Mine's a 73 but by the sound of it, it should be the same device in both cars. Thanks!
