January 10, 201312 yr Author comment_411587 All non-Z cars will be entered in People's Choice but if enough of any other Datsun/Nissan/Infinity vehicles register we will get a 1st and 2nd place trophy for them (GTR/roadster/510/pickup/Patrols/Gs....). January 11, 201312 yr comment_411591 One day some should explain why the infiniti people think they own Z cars. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/45123-zcon-2013/#findComment-411591 Share on other sites

January 11, 201312 yr comment_411632 Maybe because the 350/370 Z Car people really own a shortened Infiniti.....whilst you're still in denial that you own a Laurel Sport. January 11, 201312 yr Author comment_411635 Alan - can you provide information on what portions of the Laurel were incorporated into the Z (suspension, engines, any interior trim, etc.)? I wonder how many ever made it over to the U.S. and if any remain in operational shape today. Pictures of the C130 have me interested in learning more. January 11, 201312 yr comment_411647 I'm talking about the C30-series Laurel, of course. If you really want to comb through and look for clues ( it's fun! ), I can send you the factory parts manual for the C30 as a PDF.... But my point is that it's daft to call the "350/370 Z Car" ( Z33 / Z34 actually.... ) a "shortened Infiniti" if you still think the ( shout it ) "DATSUN 240Z" is some kind of virgin-pure engineering Year Zero creation and you have little or no idea about the cars that were alongside it in the design / drawing offices or on the production line, let alone alongside it on the showroom floor. Platform sharing is the modern way. It doesn't make the Z33 or Z34 any less of a car. Here's a peek at one page from the 1968 C30 Laurel parts manual. This one's a well-known engineering design share: Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/45123-zcon-2013/#findComment-411647 Share on other sites
January 11, 201312 yr comment_411650 The Z Convention 2013 registration site is now open. Book early before May 15 to get a reduced room rate at the Crowne Plaza which is the Convention hotel. http://www.zccazconvention.com/conventions/2013/ Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/45123-zcon-2013/#findComment-411650 Share on other sites
March 16, 201312 yr Author comment_417975 The reduced room rates at the convention hotel, the Crowne Plaza in Nashua, NH, will expire on Sunday, March 31st. Reserve your room now and safe $10./night, which if you stay for 5 or 6 night is almost the cost of registering for the convention itself.
