240K Why DOESN'T IT APPEAL TO ME?

From the moment I stumbled onto this site and learned of the 240K I have tried to find something appealing about it from every possible viewing angle but for some reason I JUST CAN'T. Maybe it is because they were never sold in NA or maybe it is because I never saw one other than in pictures. The AUSSIE group here seem to do a real nice job of restoring them and giving them some real muscle but I just can't seem to find anything aesthetically appealing about them. They look like a smaller version of the Dodge Charger after it was tamed down or a car from the 70's that blue collar guys bought to use for work purposes. I would like to get some more opinions from NA 240Z owners.

THANX

I like them, they are very 70's, the rear tail lights have a unique look, the dash lay out is very euro, the ones that have pop up in the US for sale command a premium. The guys from Down Under do a fantastic job in preserving them as we do to our Z's ;)

I agree with you when you say they can be pretty ordinary, but with the right attention they can look really cool. The GTR's are my favorite.

Adzmax is doing a grand job on one now. See link for resto http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45660&page=6&p=417706#post417706

I think the front end looks like an AMC Javelin. :) See how many makes we each see in one car? :) The quarter side holds the back glass & badge of the 240Z. Then the 2 lines on the lower quarter, that start at the back of the door, 'brilliant', makes the car look a bit lighter in back. I really like the back end, large & small round tail lights set in the famous 'Datsun black' color tail surround, with a very well fitted chrome bumper. There would be space in my garage any day of the week for one of these, blue please. :)
