esmit208 Posted December 15, 2012 Share #1 Posted December 15, 2012 From the moment I stumbled onto this site and learned of the 240K I have tried to find something appealing about it from every possible viewing angle but for some reason I JUST CAN'T. Maybe it is because they were never sold in NA or maybe it is because I never saw one other than in pictures. The AUSSIE group here seem to do a real nice job of restoring them and giving them some real muscle but I just can't seem to find anything aesthetically appealing about them. They look like a smaller version of the Dodge Charger after it was tamed down or a car from the 70's that blue collar guys bought to use for work purposes. I would like to get some more opinions from NA 240Z owners. THANX
240260280z Posted December 15, 2012 Share #2 Posted December 15, 2012 (edited) I love it. Sort of cute and menacing from certain angles.. kind of an ugly beauty sort of like a SAAB 900 or Chevy Nova. Edited December 15, 2012 by Blue
72 OJ Posted December 15, 2012 Share #3 Posted December 15, 2012 I like them, they are very 70's, the rear tail lights have a unique look, the dash lay out is very euro, the ones that have pop up in the US for sale command a premium. The guys from Down Under do a fantastic job in preserving them as we do to our Z's
EuroDat Posted December 15, 2012 Share #4 Posted December 15, 2012 (edited) I agree with you when you say they can be pretty ordinary, but with the right attention they can look really cool. The GTR's are my favorite.Adzmax is doing a grand job on one now. Mikes Z car Posted December 15, 2012 Share #5 Posted December 15, 2012 This might be a bit heretical but the very front of the car with the bumper and surrounding chrome remind me for some reason of the Pontiac GTO sold in NA.
sblake01 Posted December 15, 2012 Share #6 Posted December 15, 2012 No more heretical than the fact that the so called 'new era' GTO was built in Australia.

olzed Posted December 16, 2012 Share #9 Posted December 16, 2012 I like the front half, but to me they have too much sheet metal above the rear wheel arch, giving an unbalanced appearance. The rear half i'm not a fan of.
Mikes Z car Posted December 16, 2012 Share #10 Posted December 16, 2012 Maybe a dodge charger? Been a while since I have seen the movie "vanishing point" with the charger in it.
Decoy12 Posted December 16, 2012 Share #11 Posted December 16, 2012 (edited) I think it was a Challenger in Vanishing Point. I like the 4 door variant of the 240K http://youtu.be/tJ2XZHF4o2I?t=6m5s Edited December 16, 2012 by Decoy12
Bonzi Lon Posted December 16, 2012 Share #12 Posted December 16, 2012 I think the front end looks like an AMC Javelin. See how many makes we each see in one car? The quarter side holds the back glass & badge of the 240Z. Then the 2 lines on the lower quarter, that start at the back of the door, 'brilliant', makes the car look a bit lighter in back. I really like the back end, large & small round tail lights set in the famous 'Datsun black' color tail surround, with a very well fitted chrome bumper. There would be space in my garage any day of the week for one of these, blue please. Bonzi Lon
