Cracked dash options

I'm ready to do the full dash cap on my 78/280. I would welcome opinions on where to purchase one. I've looked at Black Dragon and MSA. My guess is you can't tell them apart but anyone with first knowledge please let me know good or bad. One more question please. I plan on doing the cap with the dash in the car. Any comments on that plan? Thanks, JB

An issue you may experience with the dash cap is warping due to exposure to summer sun and temperatures in a parked closed car. No worries if the Z is in a garage.

in 17 years with a dashcap on my car in Savannah in direct sunlight daily-most of the day every day, my finding has been completely different-but then, I used the summer sun to help in forming the cap to the dash after trimming any upward curling cracks! only a few dots of the adhesive-less is more...I have to find that installation thread I wrote!

That "Chevy Logo" is also on the original dash, it's the location for the Hazard Switch Info Decal (ON-OFF) which on earlier vehicles did NOT have the indent. It's one of the ways to detect an early dash from a later style. Indent= later, no indent = early.

Wow! Very impressed with this bit of knowledge. Thank you for the information E. Hehe, everyone on this forums probably thinks I'm some Chevy loving tweaker.... Dang.....
